Could You Volunteer at the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre

Graham and Harvy

Buster the Horse!

OUR VOLUNTEER HELPERS ARE THE HEART OF OUR CENTRE!

Graham Cuthbert from Loughton, Essex with Harvey and Ron Morley from Boston below. Two really good friends who give many hundreds of hours of their time each year.

When the National Lottery started, we, alongside many other animal sanctuaries suffered a huge downturn in income.

Our volunteers have been the salvation of the centre and its concept. They come because they like to come. The horses work their "magic" too!

All the volunteers began as visitors themselves and were "affected" by the atmosphere here. Some live far away and help with fund raising, forming support groups and finding donations.

Many give actual spare time to work at the centre. We need people with a wide variety of expertise. You need a sense of humour too!
There are projects being worked on all through the year.

You can even come for your holidays!

Bring your caravan like Andy and Michelle from Durham
or stay B and B at a local "hostelry" like Terry and Judy from Bletchley.
Working weekends are almost every week end, particularly in the Spring when we are trying to get ready for the new season and our events.

Not forgetting the horses of course, it's not all cement mixing and nail bashing, the horses need looking after too!

Here's some ways we can think of!

Painting, Mucking out, Cleaning, D.I.Y. Bathing the Horses, Advertising, Making Signs, Putting the Signs out, General Helping on Event Days.

COULD YOU BE ONE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS TOO?
