Visiting the Centre

We're next open on: (Aug) Horseman Ship Demo 5th, every Mon, Tues, Weds & Thursdays. Medieval Day 22nd
1 1

Free AdmissionThe centre is run entirely by volunteers and the costs exceed £150 each and every day, 2010 will be our second year of suspending our normal admission price and asking visitors to kindly give donations for their visit in order for us to keep looking after the horses and ponies in our care, some of which need extra special care and medication. *Admission charges do apply to some special events.

Human visitors frequently benefit and enjoy our unique programme where they experience actual contact to our resident horses. We do not want a fixed charge preventing anyone coming, although our costs exceed £150 each and every day. All the helpers you will meet are volunteers. Unlike many horse sanctuaries we do not have sufficient income to pay helpers at any level. However, as many families will be struggling to make ends meet this year, we are asking visitors to make a realistic donation towards the care of the horses before they leave. Please note, for some of our Special Event Days there may be an entry charge. " Opening Times for 2010"

Our Visitors
Dray Rides
Thursdays in August
Every year, hundreds of people of all ages and abilities actually benefit from a visit to the Northcote Horses. You could find it therapeutic! As a sanctuary for handicapped and retired horses, the care of animals is our first priority. All funds raised from visitors are used for the care of the horses. At the same time, donations, adoptions of horses and fund raising by friends are essential for our survival.
The Centre is run by volunteers, so visitors are encouraged to help with the simple tasks. We are a farm, so please wear sensible footwear. You will be close to some of the tallest horses in the world. Children must be closely supervised at all times.
Heavy Horse Dray rides are available most working days provided driver and horses are ‘fighting fit’. Rides begin after lunch. This is the most popular part of our programme and can be over-subscribed at any time of the season! Tickets: Adult & Senior £2.50
Child (primary school age and below) £1.50
Thursdays in August are training days for the Lincolnshire equestrian vaulting team, Vaulting is gymnastics on horseback. So why not come and meet the horses maybe give them a groom and then sit back and watch the team train at their unique sport. Hens Nest tea room will be open.
