Medieval Fair at Sutton Craft Barns
We had a fantastic and fun time away performing at Sutton Craft Barns this weekend. We gave a small demonstration of medieval riding skills, equestrian vaulting and a small fire show. All were enjoyed by the crowds.
The weekend wasn't without it's original hiccups with us having horse technical difficulties so we kindly were offered use of another horse and transport by a lady who lives not far from us. We are so grateful for her help and loan of her horse, Katie. Katie had never done any of these tricks before but you couldn't tell, she didn't even flinch to having one of our equestrian vaulters stand on her back! She even let Vicky her rider try horse archery whilst on her back!
We would like to thank the volunteers who pulled together and managed to help make the trip a worthwhile event. We also met lots of lovely people who were all very welcoming, and we all had fun! Please enjoy some photos below! You can view all of the photos from our weekend on our Facebook page here.
Events are vital to our survival and our efforts in continuing to care for the horses and animals welfare here at the Heavy Horse Centre. As a small animal charity we are always struggling to make ends meet but by showcasing the different types of events and skills we can offer we hope to be able to attend more shows in the future and promote the different types of horse breeds and help more heavy horses in the future.
If you are or know of an event organiser and would like to hire us here at the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre then please take a look at our hiring us page. We can offer fantastic entertainment and we're a really nice bunch of people!
